The Town Hall of Tres Cantos has published 'Puntos, comas y límites', a practical guide with guidelines and exercises for expressing oneself clearly and respectfully. The publication is part of the actions aimed at preventing gender violence.

The Town Hall of Tres Cantos, through the Department of Family and Equality and the Municipal Point of the Regional Observatory of Gender Violence, has published the guide Puntos, comas y límites, a practical manual to improve assertive communication and promote healthy personal relationships.

The publication offers tools to express needs, opinions, and emotions clearly and respectfully, without generating feelings of guilt. It includes everyday examples, simple guidelines, and exercises applicable to family, work, or social environments.

The councillor for Family and Equality, Sonia Lolo, explains that the guide addresses “the difference between passive, aggressive, and assertive communication, as well as the importance of identifying one’s own limits, managing emotions, or how to say no when necessary, always with respect for oneself and others.”

“Learning to communicate what we feel, need, or think respectfully is a skill that improves our personal relationships and contributes to enhancing emotional well-being,” Lolo points out.

The publication of the guide is part of the prevention and awareness actions promoted by the Town Hall through the Municipal Point of the Regional Observatory of Gender Violence, a service that offers comprehensive care, information, guidance, and support to women victims of gender violence, as well as training programs for citizens.

Over 1,400 interventions in 2025

The service carried out over 1,400 specialised interventions last year, including 952 psychological support sessions for women, 241 social interventions, 164 legal consultations, and 32 psychological support sessions for minors.

“Prevention also starts by fostering relationships based on respect, equality, and good treatment, so initiatives like this constitute an excellent tool to provide citizens with useful resources for their daily lives,” adds the councillor.

The guide can be consulted and downloaded for free from the documentary archive of the municipal website, within the Women’s area. With this initiative, the Town Hall reinforces its commitment to preventing gender violence throughout the year, combining awareness campaigns with training actions.
