The municipality will kick off its festive agenda on August 17 with the I Rummi Tournament at the Senior Centre. This will be followed by card championships, parchís, and tennis until September 6.
Galapagar is all set to ignite the festive atmosphere ahead of its Patron Saint Festivities in honour of the Most Holy Christ of Mercy, which will be celebrated in September. The Pre-Festivities programme will begin on August 17 and will extend throughout the second half of the month with activities for all audiences.
The first event will be the I Rummi Tournament, organised by the 'La Posada' Senior Association. It will take place from August 17 to 19 at 19:00 at the Senior Centre, with a registration fee of 2 euros. From August 20 to 22, the same venue will host the Adult Parchís Tournament starting at 20:30, with a fee of 5 euros per participant. In both cases, registrations can be made in person up to half an hour before the games start.
The sports section will commence on August 21 with the Galapagar Elite Tennis Federated Tournament at the Municipal Sports Centre, which will run until September 6. Organised by the CDE Elite Tennis Galapagar, it includes male and female categories in youth and senior divisions. During August, matches will take place from Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 22:00 and on weekends from 9:00 to 21:00. The last week of August will concentrate on the traditional card championships of the 'La Posada' association. From August 24 to 28, the XXVII Chinchón Championship will be held in the Plaza de la Constitución at 20:30, using a five-zero system and a fee of 10 euros. On the same dates, the bar at the Senior Centre will host the XXVII Tute Championship from 17:00, with a cost of 5 euros. Registrations will be taken at the Senior Centre until thirty minutes before the start.
The grand finale will be the XLIV Mus Championship, which will begin on August 31 in the Plaza de la Constitución at 20:30 and will be played until September 4. Registration, costing 50 euros per pair, will be formalised on the day of the event at the La Posada building.
With this agenda, the Galapagar Town Hall aims to get residents warmed up before the major festivities that will fill the municipality with events in September.
