Club Natación Pozuelo has secured its fourth consecutive absolute championship of Spain for clubs in adapted swimming, with 406 points. Nine swimmers from the club have been selected for the European Championships in Turkey.
Club Natación Pozuelo has reaffirmed its dominance in national adapted swimming this weekend in Castellón. The team has been crowned absolute champion of Spain for clubs for the fourth consecutive year, accumulating 406 points and surpassing Club Natación Barcelona (334) and CD Aquatic Campanar (254).
The title was forged thanks to a collective performance and absolute dominance in the relay events. The Pozuelo team triumphed in all four contested modalities: 4×50 and 4×100, both in styles and mixed freestyle. In total, the swimmers from CN Pozuelo won 15 medals: nine gold, two silver, and four bronze.
Individually, several figures stood out. Swimmer Teresa Perales won gold in the 50 meters breaststroke and 50 backstroke, and added a bronze in the 150 styles. Anastasiya 'Tasy' Dmytriv was champion in the 100 butterfly and runner-up in the 200 styles and 100 breaststroke. Catalina Sagastizábal won gold in the 50 butterfly and bronze in the 400 freestyle. David Sánchez was crowned champion in the 50 butterfly, while Carlos Martínez achieved bronze in the 100 breaststroke and Júlia Masa, bronze in the 200 freestyle.
The championship also saw nine national records set by the club's swimmers. Miguel Ángel Navarro broke four records in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle and 150 styles in class S1. Catalina Sagastizábal set new records in the 50, 100, and 400 freestyle S6, and Teresa Perales did the same in the 50 backstroke and 50 butterfly S2.
The competition also served as a precursor to the upcoming European Championships, which will take place in Kocaeli (Turkey). National coach Laureano Gil confirmed the call-up during the event in Castellón. Nine swimmers from CN Pozuelo have been selected: Catalina Sagastizábal, Carlos Martínez, Anastasiya Dmytriv, Lydia Jiménez, Marco Ozaeta, Miguel Ángel Navarro, Teresa Perales, David Sánchez, and Alicia Arias. This is the largest international representation in the club's history.
CN Pozuelo, based in the Madrid municipality, is consolidating itself as a reference in Spanish adapted swimming. The fourth consecutive title reinforces the work of the youth academy and the club's commitment to inclusion through sport.
