The Rivas Vaciamadrid City Council has opened the application period for the second edition of the Business and Entrepreneurship Awards, which will distribute 32,000 euros across six categories until July 19.
Businesses and entrepreneurs in Rivas Vaciamadrid have a new opportunity to showcase their projects. The City Council has launched the second edition of the Business and Entrepreneurship Awards, with a total budget of 32,000 euros, 2,000 more than last year.
Six categories to reward local talent
The awards are divided into two blocks: businesses and entrepreneurship. In the first block, the star category is the Rivas Vaciamadrid SME Award, endowed with 8,000 euros for the best business project in the municipality. This is followed by the Retail and/or Hospitality Establishment Award (6,000 euros) and the Microenterprise Award (6,000 euros), the latter aimed at self-employed individuals and microenterprises.
In the entrepreneurship block, two new categories have been added compared to the previous edition: the Senior Entrepreneurship Award and the Young Entrepreneurship Project Award. Both are endowed with 4,000 euros each, as is the Rivas Entrepreneurship Project Award, which remains.
“We wanted to diversify the different realities of local business and entrepreneurship, incorporating evaluation criteria that promote equality and recognise senior and young talent,” explain sources from the Economic Development and Employment Department.
How to submit an application
The application period started this week and runs until Sunday, July 19. The rules and application form are available on the electronic headquarters of the Rivas City Council. Interested parties must complete the online application and attach the required documentation, which includes a project or activity report.
The City Council encourages all businesses, self-employed individuals, and entrepreneurs in the municipality to participate. “We want to give visibility to the initiative and reaffirm our commitment to the local business fabric,” municipal sources state. The initiative aims to recognise the effort, innovation, and contribution of businesses to the economic and social development of Rivas.
An economic boost for the local fabric
The awards not only represent recognition but also provide a financial boost for the winners. With a total of 32,000 euros, the City Council hopes to promote job creation and the consolidation of businesses in the area. In the first edition, the awards distributed 30,000 euros and received a positive response from the local business community.
For residents, this call represents an opportunity to boost projects that might otherwise go unnoticed. Furthermore, the fact that specific categories for young people and seniors are awarded allows for a diverse range of profiles to compete for the awards. The awards ceremony is scheduled for next autumn, although the exact date will be communicated later.
