The National Police Station of Pozuelo de Alarcón is left without a chief. Celso Galván, who took office on January 29, 2026, will leave the position in the coming days to return to the Congress of Deputies, where he will take on the responsibility as commissioner, according to sources familiar with the operation.
This move represents a new change in the leadership of the Pozuelo police station, which had already changed command just six months ago. Galván then replaced Commissioner José Manuel Valle, and now he is the one leaving to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of the commissioner who was in charge of security for the Lower House.
His experience in Congress was, in fact, one of the most highlighted aspects during his inauguration in Pozuelo, where his background in high-responsibility positions within the National Police was emphasized. Now, that experience has earned him a return to his previous post.
Although his time in Pozuelo has been brief, it has coincided with months of notable police activity. During this period, the National Police has participated in some of the most relevant operations in the municipality, including the coordination of security during the Fiestas del Carmen, addressing the emergency caused by wildfires in the west of the Community of Madrid —in which he collaborated with the Municipal Police, SEAPA, and Civil Protection for the reception of evacuees at the Daniela Kaiser pavilion— and various police investigations.
One of the most notable was the recent arrest of the alleged perpetrator of a series of vandalistic acts against vehicles parked on Hermanos Fernández Carvajal street. This investigation helped clarify several damage crimes and put an end to a situation that had generated significant alarm among residents.
Furthermore, just a few days ago, Galván attended the inauguration of Félix Castillo Hernández as the new chief commissioner of the Municipal Police of Pozuelo. This gesture symbolized the coordination between both security bodies at a time when the City Council continues to strengthen resources aimed at maintaining the low crime rates in the municipality.
So far, it has not been revealed who will take over the leadership of the National Police Station of Pozuelo de Alarcón after Celso Galván's departure, nor the official date of the changeover. The commissioner's exit will require a new appointment just six months after his arrival, opening a new chapter at the helm of one of the police stations with the best security indicators in the Community of Madrid.
For the residents of Pozuelo, this change brings new uncertainty regarding the continuity in police leadership, although the force assures that services and coordination with other security bodies will continue to function normally.
