The State Meteorological Agency has activated a yellow warning for high temperatures in the metropolitan area and the Henares Corridor, with maximums expected of 35 degrees in Las Rozas.
The thermometers in Las Rozas will reach 35 degrees this Sunday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), which has activated the yellow heat alert in the metropolitan area and the Henares Corridor. The warning will be in effect during the central hours of the day, particularly from 19:00 hours, when the peak temperature is expected.
A day of relentless sun
The sky will dawn with few clouds and will clear completely as the morning progresses. The forecast indicates that the heat will persist until dusk, with minimums around 17 degrees. The winds, light and from the southwest, will not alleviate the muggy feeling.
AEMET recommends that residents of Las Rozas avoid sun exposure between 12:00 and 18:00 hours, hydrate frequently, and pay special attention to the elderly and children. The yellow alert is the lowest level on the alert scale, but authorities insist on staying vigilant.
On Monday, heat unchanged
No relief will come on Monday. The day is expected to be cloudless again, with identical temperatures: maximums of 35 degrees and minimums of 17. The winds will continue to be light from the southwest. By Tuesday, the mercury will rise another degree, reaching 36 degrees, although the sky will remain clear with no precipitation in sight.
This heatwave is part of a high-temperature episode affecting much of the Community of Madrid. In the capital, thermometers will reach similar values, while in towns like Alcalá de Henares or Aranjuez, temperatures could exceed 37 degrees.
For residents in Las Rozas, the alert means taking extra precautions for outdoor activities. The City Council reminds that municipal swimming pools are extending their hours and that there are hydration points in parks and squares. Additionally, it is recommended to keep shutters down and ventilate only during the cooler hours.
AEMET will update the alert if conditions worsen. For now, the heat is intense and relentless: it's time to seek shade, drink water, and if going out, do so wisely. Let the sun not take away our good mood, but remind us that summer is already here.
