The Beach Dog Club of VivePets in Las Rozas offers a dog pool with ramps, showers, and shaded areas. It opens 365 days a year and limits capacity to 30 people between humans and dogs.
A dog pool in Las Rozas opens its doors 365 days a year, a plan that combines refreshment and fun for pets and their owners. The Beach Dog Club of VivePets offers a fenced area with a pool up to three meters deep, steps, and a ramp for easy access for the animals.
The facility, which has been operating since 2016, features fresh water showers and hoses to rinse off the dogs after their bath. Customer Service and Marketing Manager, Mónica Muñoz, highlights that it is "a perfect plan" because owners can engage in an activity with their dog while the pets socialise and have fun while cooling off.
Shifts and prices
The schedule is divided into two shifts: from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm, with a maximum capacity of 30 people between humans and dogs. Tickets can be purchased online for €16.50 for one dog and one person, with an additional charge of €6.50 for extra companions or pets.
Although any breed can access, the complex reserves specific shifts for dogs weighing less than 13 kilos, such as Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Dogs classified as potentially dangerous can also attend, as long as they comply with the regulations of the Community of Madrid.
Services and maintenance
Next to the pool, there is a bar where owners can order soft drinks, beer, or snacks, while dogs have their own ice creams and snacks. The facilities feature awnings and shaded areas that allow for longer stays during the hottest hours.
The water undergoes "thorough control" and the filtration system operates 24 hours a day to keep the pool "as clean as possible". The centre is part of a pet resort that includes a 24-hour dog hotel, daycare, grooming, veterinary services, a shop, and outdoor gardens.
Breeds and behaviour in the water
The dog breeds that enjoy the pool the most are Labradors and Golden Retrievers, who jump in immediately, recalling their hunting origins. However, not all dogs enter the water with the same enthusiasm: some arrive scared, although they gradually become more animated.
"The important thing is not to throw them in. They should enter by themselves because if you throw them into the water, the effect is usually the opposite," advises Muñoz. To access, it is mandatory for dogs to have a valid rabies vaccine and microchip, and the centre also recommends the kennel cough vaccine.
Residents of Las Rozas and surrounding areas now have an option to enjoy summer with their pets without leaving the Community of Madrid. The facility opens every day of the year, allowing for swims on hot days even outside the summer season.
