The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, handed over the first keys to 524 homes from the Vive Plan in Boadilla del Monte on Thursday, the largest promotion of this programme. With this delivery, the region reaches a total of 6,419 affordable rental homes delivered.
The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, handed over the first keys to the 524 homes from the Vive Plan in Boadilla del Monte on Thursday, the largest promotion of this programme awarded to date. The event, held on Fray Bartolomé de las Casas street, marked a milestone in the region's affordable housing policy, which has now delivered 6,419 homes across various municipalities.
A record promotion with 12 industrialised buildings
The new promotion consists of 12 buildings constructed using an industrialised building system, which has allowed the works to be completed in just 22 months. The complex offers 109 one-bedroom homes, 246 two-bedroom homes, and 169 three-bedroom homes, in addition to more than twenty adapted for people with reduced mobility.
Tenants will enjoy common areas that include a swimming pool, gym, multi-sports court, children's park, and extensive landscaped areas, as well as parking spaces. All of this, according to the Community of Madrid, at affordable prices ranging from 600 to 900 euros per month, depending on the size of the home.
The interest in this promotion has been massive: over 6,200 applications were registered since the registration period opened on May 11. The allocation process prioritised those who can prove they have lived or worked in Boadilla del Monte for at least the last three years, a requirement aimed at stabilising the local population.
Boadilla joins the Vive Plan network
With this delivery, Boadilla del Monte joins the list of municipalities where promotions of the Vive Plan have already been developed, including Alcalá de Henares, Alcorcón, Colmenar Viejo, Getafe, Madrid, Móstoles, Navalcarnero, Pinto, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Torrejón de Ardoz, and Tres Cantos. The plan has already benefited over 15,000 people, according to regional government data.
The Madrid president insisted that building more homes is the way to contain prices and facilitate access to rental housing, especially for young people and families. "Every home we deliver is an opportunity for those struggling to find affordable housing," she declared during the event.

The Vive Plan continues to expand its offerings with the goal of reaching 14,000 homes in 26 municipalities, of which around 3,200 are expected to be delivered before the end of this year. In addition, the regional government has reminded that the recent approval of the Urgent Housing Measures Law aims to boost the construction of more than 18,000 new homes over the next four years.
How does it affect Boadilla residents?
For residents of Boadilla del Monte, this promotion represents relief in a municipality where rental prices have seen a sustained increase in recent years. The homes from the Vive Plan, with rents below market rates, offer an alternative for those who cannot afford free market prices. Furthermore, the local priority ensures that residents of the municipality have an advantage in the allocation.
The new tenants will begin to occupy their homes in the coming weeks, following the signing of contracts. For those who were not awarded homes, the Community of Madrid recommends staying alert for upcoming promotions, as new registration periods will open in other municipalities in the coming months.
The delivery of these 524 homes not only strengthens the supply of affordable rental housing in the region but also demonstrates that industrialised construction can accelerate timelines without sacrificing quality. Meanwhile, the residents of Boadilla can already enjoy a swimming pool and gym without leaving their development, a small luxury within reach of a controlled rent.
