The City Council of Móstoles, through the Department of Education and Culture, has scheduled the first screening of the Summer Cinema cycle 2026 for this Saturday, July 25. The chosen film is 'One for All' (2020), a drama starring David Verdaguer that addresses school integration and the role of the teacher as a mediator.
The film tells the story of a temporary teacher who arrives in an unfamiliar town to take charge of a sixth-grade class. His task becomes complicated when a student returns to school after a long illness and faces rejection from some of his classmates. The teacher must intervene to facilitate reintegration and prevent bullying.
The screening will take place in the park opposite the Zoco, at the junction of Castaño Street and Eucalipto Street, in the Parque Coimbra urbanisation. Access is free and the event will begin at 22:00, once the sun has completely set.
The Summer Cinema cycle will continue throughout August with three more titles. On Saturday, August 1, 'Noah's Ark' (2024) will be screened, an animated Brazilian film that tells the adventures of two mice, Vini and Tito, who sneak onto the ark to prevent a confrontation between carnivorous and herbivorous animals.
On Saturday, August 8, 'Lilo and Stitch' (2025), the live-action version of the Disney classic, will arrive. The story recaptures the friendship between Lilo, a lonely Hawaiian girl, and Stitch, an alien fleeing from his pursuers. The film combines adventure and emotion in an island setting.
The programme will conclude on Saturday, August 15, with 'A Minecraft Movie' (2025), inspired by the popular video game. The plot follows four ordinary people who are transported to a block universe and must overcome obstacles to return home. The film mixes humour, action, and fantasy.
All sessions are held on Saturdays at 22:00 in the same location at Parque Coimbra. Admission is free until the outdoor venue reaches capacity. The City Council recommends arriving early to choose a good spot and, if desired, bringing chairs or blankets for added comfort.
The Summer Cinema initiative aims to provide a free cultural leisure alternative for the residents of Móstoles during the summer nights. The department has selected films for all audiences, combining animated titles with family cinema and educational drama.
Attendees must respect the rules of coexistence in public spaces and keep the area clean. The consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted in the screening area. The City Council reminds that the park is a shared space and requests cooperation to enjoy the cinema in harmony.
With this programme, Móstoles joins the tradition of summer cinemas that many municipalities in the Community of Madrid organise during the months of July and August.
