Getafe announced on Wednesday the return of Ramon Terrats, but no longer on loan: the blue club has paid between €2.5 and €3 million to Villarreal for the midfielder to sign until 2029.
Getafe has re-signed one of the players who provided the best performance in the final stretch of the 2024-25 season. Ramon Terrats, 26, returns to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, but this time with a permanent contract. The blue club has reached an agreement with Villarreal for his transfer, valued between €2.5 and €3 million, and the player has signed for three seasons, until June 30, 2029.
A return that excites in Getafe
Terrats previously wore the Getafe shirt in the second half of the 2024-25 season, on loan from Villarreal. In those 16 matches, the Barcelona native made an impact: four goals and one assist that helped José Bordalás' team climb the table. His performance convinced the blue management, which has made a financial effort to retain him.
The club's website highlighted his qualities: "arriving in the area, intensity, and ability to join the attack." These virtues are precisely what Bordalás is looking for to strengthen a midfield that has lost key players like Luis Milla (transferred to Como) and Mauro Arambarri (to River Plate).
A career with ups and downs
Last season, Terrats played on loan at Espanyol, the club of which he is a member and confessed supporter. There he played 31 matches and scored one goal, but he could not establish himself in Manolo González's starting eleven. Espanyol, which went through a very difficult second half of the season fighting for survival, did not exercise the purchase option, and Villarreal reclaimed him.
Before that, Terrats had stood out at Sant Andreu after his youth stage at CF Damm, and then signed for Girona, where he contributed to their promotion to the top flight. However, in the top category, he had little prominence (2022-23 season) before Villarreal brought him in.
A Getafe that strengthens after departures
The arrival of Terrats is not the only news in the blue market. Getafe has executed the purchases of the three players on loan who boosted the team in the final stretch of last season: defenders Zaid Romero and Sebastián Boselli, and forward Martín Satriano. They have also secured the loan of defender Jean Ives Valou from Villarreal and have purchased another loaned player, Mario Martín, from Real Madrid.
With these additions, Bordalás aims to maintain the competitive level of the team, which last season went from fighting for survival to competing for European spots. For Getafe fans, the return of Terrats means regaining a player who has already proven his worth at the Coliseum and who knows the Alicante coach's system perfectly.
The midfielder will join training in the coming days, once he passes the medical examination. His adaptation, according to club sources, will be quick, as he "knows the team's dynamics and Bordalás' methods."
