The Getafe City Card opens up to visitors and adds new functions. The 'Shop in your neighbourhood' campaign will reward five shoppers with 100 euros.
The Getafe City Council has launched a new phase of the City Card, the free tool that expands its uses and is now also open to visitors, students, workers, and regular consumers, not just residents. This new feature comes alongside the 'Shop in your neighbourhood' campaign, which will raffle five prizes of 100 euros among those who make purchases at participating shops.
The card, which is managed through a mobile application, evolves to become a gateway to the city. Among its new functionalities are access to promotions, vouchers, cultural, commercial, and leisure experiences, as well as information on local events. It will also allow participation in programs such as social vouchers to spend at participating establishments, support for educational assistance, discounts on the Waste Tax linked to recycling, and a program for 18-year-old residents, who can receive 50 euros to spend in local shops.
The 'Shop in your neighbourhood' campaign aims to encourage local consumption and support businesses in the Getafe neighbourhoods. The mechanics are simple: download the City Card, make a purchase at a participating establishment, and show the QR code. Each purchase counts as an entry into the raffle, so the more purchases made, the greater the chances of winning.
The City Council emphasizes that shopping at local businesses supports jobs and keeps neighbourhoods active. This initiative is part of the Activa Getafe project, aimed at the digital transformation of the city, which seeks to connect citizens, visitors, businesses, hospitality, and municipal services in a more agile and secure experience.
The rules for the 'Shop in your neighbourhood' raffle can be consulted at www.acoeg.org, and all information about the City Card is available at tarjetaciudad.getafe.es. The range of services will gradually expand with new functionalities related to administrative digitalization and the economic revitalization of the municipality.
