The regional government renews its agreement with IndesIA to modernise the business fabric. The investment of 6 million until 2028 aims to reduce the technological gap for small companies.

The Community of Madrid has greenlit a new agreement with the Industrial Association for the Promotion of the Data Economy and Artificial Intelligence (IndesIA) to extend the use of artificial intelligence among companies in the region. The agreement, which will be in effect until 2028, includes an investment of 6 million euros from the regional budget.

This second phase continues the programme initiated in 2024, when the regional government allocated 7.6 million euros from Next Generation funds. The current goal is to consolidate the infrastructure created, promote the evolution of pilot projects to widespread implementation, and bring AI closer to the entire Madrid productive fabric.

Thanks to this collaboration, companies in the region will have access to free programmes, tools, and services to incorporate artificial intelligence into their daily activities, without the need for significant outlays or developing their own technological solutions. The initiative is particularly aimed at SMEs, which face the greatest challenges in making the digital leap.

Among the new features of this stage is the creation of a Marketplace, a shared digital platform where organisations can find already developed AI applications and also share their own with the rest of the business ecosystem. This tool aims to streamline access to specific solutions and encourage collaboration among companies.

The first phase of the programme has already yielded tangible results. A total of 300 SMEs have participated in an acceleration programme that included over 400 hours of specialised mentoring to identify opportunities for AI application. Additionally, more than 75 pilot projects have been launched in various productive sectors.

In 2025, the Community of Madrid launched IndesIA Hub, an AI marketplace that already has 150 users and offers five services tailored to real needs, such as sales analysis, virtual assistant creation, tender and grant management, or document digitisation.

The textile sector has also benefited from this strategy. A total of 24 companies are participating in a pioneering national initiative based on a data demonstration centre that allows the sharing and exploitation of high-value structured information to promote new business models and improve competitiveness.

With this new push, the Community of Madrid strengthens its commitment to the digitalisation of the business fabric, focusing on ensuring that small and medium-sized enterprises do not fall behind in the technological revolution. Ultimately, the measure aims to improve productivity and competitiveness across the regional economy.
