The Tres Cantos City Council has opened the application period for the 2026 Energy Efficiency Plan, with a budget of 80,000 euros to improve the energy performance of homes and property communities.
The Tres Cantos City Council has launched a new edition of its Energy Efficiency Plan, this year endowed with 80,000 euros, an amount that exceeds last year's by 10,000 euros. The open call aims to promote energy savings and reduce emissions among the municipality's residents.
Two lines of funding: homes and communities
The budget is divided equally: 40,000 euros for individual homes and another 40,000 for property communities. Each applicant can receive up to 80% of the cost of the action, with a maximum limit of 7,000 euros per application.
In the case of single-family homes or flats, the aid covers everything from the replacement of windows with those of higher thermal efficiency to the installation of solar panels, aerothermal systems, LED lighting, or charging points for electric vehicles. It also includes insulation improvements and the replacement of boilers with more efficient equipment.
For residential communities, the subsidies focus on the thermal envelope of the building, renewable energy installations, the renovation of lighting in common areas, and sustainable mobility measures, such as creating spaces for bicycles or personal mobility vehicles.

An important detail: the subsidised actions must have been executed between September 1, 2025 and August 31, 2026. That is, residents who have already made renovations in recent months can apply for this aid as long as the invoices are within that period.
The application deadline ends on August 31, 2026, and the process is exclusively online through the Tres Cantos City Council's Electronic Headquarters. Detailed information about requirements and necessary documentation can also be found there.
A boost to savings and the environment
With this plan, the Tres Cantos council aims not only to alleviate households' energy bills but also to contribute to the municipality's sustainability goals. The increase of 10,000 euros compared to the previous edition reflects, according to municipal sources, the growing interest of residents in this type of aid.
For residents, it represents an opportunity to make improvements to their homes at a significant discount. For example, changing windows to those with thermal break can cost between 3,000 and 6,000 euros in an average flat; with the maximum aid of 7,000 euros, the final outlay is considerably reduced.
"We want the residents of Tres Cantos to save on their bills and, at the same time, reduce their carbon footprint," municipal sources state.
The municipal website includes a complete list of subsidised actions, as well as application forms and required documentation. It is recommended to review the requirements before starting the process to avoid errors that could delay the granting.
For any questions, interested parties can contact the City Council's Environment Department through the usual channels. The 80,000 euros will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted, so it is advisable to act quickly.
