The second-hand vehicle trading company Carplus has inaugurated new facilities in Alcobendas, creating 50 direct jobs and strengthening its mobility offering in the north of the Community of Madrid.
Carplus has launched a new operations centre in Alcobendas, one of the municipalities with the highest business dynamism in the region. The facility, located in the local industrial estate, covers an area of 3,000 square metres and houses customer service offices, a vehicle exhibition area, and technical inspection workshops. The company expects to manage over 1,500 buying and selling operations there each year, according to company sources.
The choice of Alcobendas is not coincidental. The municipality, with a per capita income above the regional average and a consolidated business fabric, has become a technology hub that attracts a demanding customer profile. “We want the residents of the northern area to have a trusted ally to renew their vehicle without the usual uncertainties,” explained the operations director of Carplus during the inauguration.
Job creation and local dynamism
The opening of the centre has resulted in the hiring of 50 direct workers, including salespeople, mechanics, and administrative staff, most of whom are residents of Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes. Additionally, around twenty indirect jobs have been created in cleaning, security, and logistics services. The Alcobendas City Council has positively assessed the investment, which contributes to diversifying the local productive fabric and retaining the active population in the municipality.
The company has also announced an agreement with the Alcobendas Vocational Training Centre to offer internships to students in the Automotive cycle. “It’s an opportunity for young people to train in a sector that is undergoing a transformation,” municipal sources stated. In this way, Carplus not only strengthens its operational capacity but also integrates into the educational community of the area.
Offer adapted to Low Emission Zones
The new Carplus centre arrives at a key moment for mobility in the Community of Madrid. With the gradual implementation of Low Emission Zones (LEZ) in several municipalities, the demand for vehicles with environmental labels C and ECO has skyrocketed. The Alcobendas facility will offer a catalogue of over 200 second-hand vehicles, all with certified warranties and inspected according to the standards of the General Directorate of Traffic.
“Many residents need to replace their old car with one that meets the LEZ restrictions, and here they can find affordable and reliable options,” company spokespeople explained. Additionally, the centre includes a free valuation service for those wishing to sell their used vehicle, with a commitment to provide an offer in less than 24 hours. The company expects this line of business to represent 40% of operations in the first year.
Open house days for residents
Carplus has organised open house days at its new facilities for the coming weeks. Residents of Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes, and neighbouring municipalities will be able to visit the centre, learn about the available vehicles, and receive personalised advice without obligation. Visits will take place on Saturday mornings, by appointment through the company’s website.
“We want people to get to know us and to know that we are here to help them throughout the process, from selling their car to financing,” said representatives from Carplus. The initiative aims to build trust in a market where transparency is key. With this commitment, the company strengthens its position in northern Madrid and demonstrates that investment in proximity and quality remains profitable, even in times of accelerated digitalisation.
