The Alcobendas City Council publishes the guidelines for the third call of the Baby Voucher, a 500 euro aid for birth, adoption or fostering. Applications can be submitted from 7 September.

Families in Alcobendas who have had a child, adopted or fostered a minor between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026 can apply from next 7 September for the municipal aid of 500 euros per child, known as the Baby Voucher. The City Council will allocate 390,000 euros to this third edition, according to the guidelines published in the Official Bulletin of the Community of Madrid (BOCM) on 7 July.

To access the aid, at least one of the parents, adopters or foster carers must have been registered in Alcobendas for at least three years prior to the birth, adoption or fostering of the minor. The application period begins on 7 September, and the City Council will inform in advance through its official channels about the procedure and specific dates.

Over 620 beneficiaries in the first two editions

In the previous two calls, the Baby Voucher has reached more than 620 families in the municipality. The mayor of Alcobendas, who promoted this measure as one of her electoral promises, has highlighted that this aid is part of a broader Birth Plan that includes other programs and workshops for pregnant women and mothers with babies up to 24 months old.

“The implementation of policies to promote birth rates, work-life balance and support for families has been a priority for this government team. Families are the future of our city and deserve special attention,” municipal sources state.

The Baby Voucher is in addition to other direct aids and initiatives such as breastfeeding workshops, childbirth preparation courses, and support groups for first-time mothers, which the City Council offers free of charge. The mayor has reiterated her commitment to maintain and expand these policies in the upcoming budgets.

How to apply for the aid and deadlines

Applications will be submitted electronically through the Alcobendas City Council's electronic headquarters, although they can also be delivered in person at the Municipal Registry. The application period will remain open for several months, although the City Council recommends not waiting until the last moment to avoid crowds. Interested parties must provide the family book, the registration certificate, and, in the case of adoption or fostering, the corresponding judicial or administrative resolution.

For residents of Alcobendas who are expecting a child or have expanded their family during the specified dates, this aid represents a financial relief in a context of inflation and rising childcare costs. 500 euros can cover part of the basic materials for the baby, such as the stroller, crib, or diapers during the first months.

The City Council reminds that the aid is compatible with other regional or state benefits, such as the maternity deduction in personal income tax or the childhood aid supplement of the Minimum Living Income. However, each family must check their particular situation to avoid duplications.

With this third call, Alcobendas strengthens its commitment to birth rates at a time when the Community of Madrid records one of the lowest birth rates in Spain. The initiative, although modest in amount, aims to encourage the decision to have children in a municipality that offers quality public services and a favourable environment for families.
