The company Electra has launched a new ultra-fast charging station at the Rivas Futura Commercial Park, with 8 points of up to 300 kW. The investment has been €800,000.
Electric vehicle drivers in the southeast of Madrid now have a new option to recharge in just a few minutes. Electra inaugurated this Wednesday an ultra-fast station at the Rivas Futura Commercial Park, in Rivas-Vaciamadrid, with eight charging points of up to 300 kW.
The facility, the seventh of the company in the Community of Madrid, allows a full charge in about 15 minutes, depending on the car model and battery status. It is located in the outdoor parking of the shopping centre, an area that receives nearly six million visitors a year.
An investment of €800,000 alongside AEW
The project has involved an investment of €800,000, as part of the agreement between Electra and the property management company AEW, owner of the complex. Both companies plan to replicate the model in other shopping centres in Spain, with locations already planned in Alicante, Santander, and Alcorcón.
For Rivas-Vaciamadrid, the opening represents a strengthening of the charging infrastructure in a key area. The municipality is a necessary stop for those travelling along the corridor to Valencia, and the station serves both locals and passing drivers.
“It is a step forward in normalising ultra-fast charging in everyday environments, such as going shopping or dining,” sources from Electra state.
Over 100 active points and a plan to exceed 300 by 2026
Electra already has more than 100 active charging points in Spain, and its goal is to exceed 300 by 2026. In the Community of Madrid, the company plans to open another six stations before the end of the year, which would raise its regional presence to 13 facilities.
The company estimates that the Rivas Futura station could reach around 45 charging sessions daily during its first year, which would result in an estimated saving of 323 tonnes of CO₂. For local residents, the new infrastructure reduces dependence on home chargers and facilitates recharging during daily commutes.
Those interested can locate the station in the outdoor parking of the Rivas Futura Commercial Park, accessible from the A-3. The company recommends using its app to check availability in real-time.
