The Ayuntamiento of Madrid offers 400 free places in a virtual summer campus focused on artificial intelligence to improve job searching. The workshops will take place from July 14 to 30.
The Employment Agency of the Ayuntamiento of Madrid has launched an online summer campus with artificial intelligence as the main theme. The initiative, presented by Susana Arribas, head of the Labour Guidance and Intermediation Service, will offer 400 free places for individuals registered with the agency.
The workshops will be held between July 14 and 30 and will include four modules: CV writing, interview preparation, job searching, and digital tools. The aim is for participants to acquire advanced digital skills over the summer.
Artificial intelligence in the service of employment
At the job guidance table of the Madrid Trabaja programme, experts such as Daniel Herrera (Inserta Empleo), Irene Lorenzo (Cruz Roja Cuenca del Manzanares), and Laura Ramírez (OriéntaT) discussed how to make the most of AI without losing the human touch.
José Luis Garde, an artificial intelligence specialist, explained how to train AI to create effective prompts, optimise CVs, and prepare for interviews.
“AI is a support tool; it should not replace the candidate's judgment or experience,” Garde stated.
Free training for the unemployed
The campus is aimed at individuals registered with the Employment Agency, a requirement already met by thousands of unemployed or job-seeking Madrileños. The workshops will be conducted online, allowing participation from anywhere in the region.
Susana Arribas highlighted that the initiative aims to “make the most of the summer to improve employability” and reminded that places are limited, so she recommends registering as soon as possible. The training is completely free and does not require prior knowledge of AI.
A summer to train in digital skills
In addition to the workshops, the Madrid Trabaja programme reviewed other curious news from the job market, such as a worker being fired for a joke or the case of someone who lasted only 45 minutes in a new job. The story of an 86-year-old retiree who received a false job offer also caught attention.
The campus is part of the Ayuntamiento's efforts to promote digital training among unemployed Madrileños. For residents of the capital, this is an opportunity to acquire highly sought-after skills at no cost and with flexible hours.
Registrations are already open through the website of the Employment Agency. Interested individuals must be registered as job seekers with the municipal agency. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
