The Community of Madrid has carried out more than 46,000 actions of attention and assistance through the Social Housing Agency in the first half of 2026.

The Social Housing Agency (AVS) of the Community of Madrid has exceeded 46,000 actions of attention, management, and assistance during the first half of 2026, a figure that encompasses both the services offered to citizens and the daily support to residents of the more than 24,600 homes in the regional public housing stock.

From January to June, nearly 25,000 interventions were aimed at supporting families, mediating in coexistence conflicts, detecting vulnerability situations, and providing assistance to elderly individuals living alone. To this end, the regional agency has 72 professionals in Education and Social Work, present in all 21 districts of the capital and in more than 100 municipalities in the region.

The work of these teams on the ground allows for firsthand knowledge of tenants' needs, providing support in particularly difficult circumstances and promoting coexistence in public housing developments. Additionally, they develop family support programs, neighbourhood mediation, and community intervention, and they identify cases that require specific follow-up at an early stage.

Among the initiatives, those aimed at detecting and accompanying elderly individuals in situations of unwanted loneliness, drug prevention campaigns, and activities to promote coexistence stand out. Awareness actions on home safety are also carried out in collaboration with the Fire Brigade, aiming to prevent risks and provide useful tools in the event of possible emergencies.

In May, the Agency launched the new Citizen Attention and Information Service, which consolidates orientation, registration, prior appointment, and preferential service in one space. This reorganisation aims to streamline procedures, reduce waiting times, and offer a more personalised service, especially to those who need help with administrative procedures or using electronic channels.

Since its inception, more than 10,000 procedures related to rental deposits have been managed, over 8,200 in-person registrations, more than 2,500 inquiries, and nearly 750 technical incidents.

During the summer period, the Community of Madrid maintains all AVS resources, both those aimed at citizens and the intervention, mediation, and neighbourhood assistance teams. Residents of Madrid can continue to carry out their procedures in person, by phone, or electronically, while professionals continue to work in housing developments with orientation, prevention, community integration, and coexistence support tasks.
