The festivities of San Cayetano, San Lorenzo, and La Virgen de la Paloma will take place from August 4 to 16 with performances by Celtas Cortos, Miss Caffeina, Soleá Morente, and DePol.
Madrid is preparing for its traditional August festivities. From August 4 to 16, the neighborhoods of Embajadores, Lavapiés, and La Latina will host dozens of free outdoor concerts featuring names like Celtas Cortos, Miss Caffeina, Soleá Morente, and DePol.
The festivities kick off with San Cayetano, from August 4 to 7. On Tuesday, August 4, Raya Real will perform in the plaza del General Vara de Rey; on Wednesday the 5th, it will be Jarana's turn. The highlight comes on Thursday the 6th at 21:30 with Soleá Morente, and the closing act will be Montoya & Carmona.
Completing the San Cayetano lineup are The Zona Rock Band, La Fiesta, and Rata by Vibra Mahou, along with DJ sets that will extend the party into the early hours.
From August 8 to 11, the San Lorenzo festivities will move to Lavapiés. There will be tribute acts such as La Penúltima Sabinera, alongside Los Vinagres, Metroolé, and Lotus, as well as the traditional Water Battle and the VII Virgen de la Paloma Chotis Contest.
The grand finale arrives with La Virgen de la Paloma, from August 13 to 16, which is the most crowded. The Jardines de las Vistillas will be the main stage: Celtas Cortos opens on the 13th; on the 14th, there will be a dose of nostalgia with Los Refrescos, Modestia Aparte, and Fernandisco at 21:00.
On the day of La Paloma, August 15, DePol will provide the soundtrack at 21:30, preceded by Olga María Ramos at 20:00. The final touch will be given by Miss Caffeina on the 16th at 21:30 in Las Vistillas, while Karavana will perform in the plaza de la Paja.
The closing day will also include a traditional vermouth, award presentations, the First Castiza Water Party on Calatrava street, and lemonade distribution. All concerts are free to access until capacity is reached.
