Majadahonda upgrades the fairground lighting with a 37% energy saving

The Majadahonda City Council installs 87 LED lights with remote management at the fairground, achieving a 37% energy saving and a new access to the concert area.

The Majadahonda City Council has installed 87 new LED lights with remote management at the fairground, which will allow for a 37% energy saving and better regulation of lighting.

The Majadahonda City Council has completed a comprehensive upgrade of the lighting at the fairground, located between the road from Majadahonda to Boadilla and the Canal de Isabel II path, next to the Adolfo Suárez Park. A total of 87 new LED lights have been installed to replace the previous ones, with a total power of 12,000 W, which will result in an approximate energy saving of 37% for the municipality.

The new lights feature a remote management system that allows for on-demand switching on and off, as well as adjusting the intensity according to needs. Additionally, the 4-meter low columns have been replaced with new ones of 10 and 12 meters in height, improving visibility and safety on all paths, streets, and critical points of the fairground.

The Councillor for Security and Festivities, Ignacio Silván, explained that, in addition to the lighting, a new access to the area where large concerts are held has been created. Once past the entrance control, the path will split into two, with one route leading independently to the concert area and another to the attractions area, aiming to improve accessibility and ensure order and safety for attendees.

Silván noted that "we continue to invest in the fairground, and after carrying out the comprehensive paving plan for this space, this year we have created a new access path to the concert area, separate from the entrance and exit to the area where the attractions are usually placed."

The Majadahonda fairground hosts various events throughout the year, such as amusement fairs, drone shows, sporting events, and large concerts, especially during the municipality's Patron Saint Festivities, which take place in September. With this action, the City Council aims to ensure that the area is better prepared to welcome residents and visitors under optimal safety and efficiency conditions.
