Residents of Majadahonda will be able to park for free in SER zones from August 1 to 31. This is the fourth consecutive summer that this measure is in place.
For the fourth consecutive year, the City Council of Majadahonda has announced that the parking meters in the SER zone (Regulated Parking Service) will remain inoperative throughout the month of August. This measure, which was also implemented in the summers of 2023, 2024, and 2025, aims to facilitate the mobility of residents and visitors during a period when traffic in the urban centre decreases significantly.
The free parking will begin at 20:01 on Friday, July 31, and will last until 20:01 on Monday, August 31. During this period, drivers will be able to park at no cost in all blue zone spaces, as well as in the special area on Virgen de Icíar Street. The service will resume on Tuesday, September 1, with the usual hours: Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00; on Saturdays, only in the morning (10:00 to 14:00). In the Virgen de Icíar area, the hours will be from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 14:00. Sundays and holidays will have no service, as is customary.
The City Council has reminded that, during the rest of the year, the parking meters allow payment via contactless technology. Users can pay for parking time by bringing their bank card close to the terminal, without the need for cash or change. Additionally, the devices operate on solar energy, reducing their environmental impact.
For residents, the City Council maintains the option to purchase an annual parking permit for €34.65, prorated by natural quarters. There is also a reduced rate for occasional residents, subject to verification of their status. Retail merchants and repair workshops located in regulated areas can obtain an annual permit for €83.10, with a maximum of eight authorisations per workshop. Electric vehicles, for their part, can park for free in the blue zone throughout the year.
The August measure particularly benefits residents who remain in the city during the summer, as well as tourists visiting Majadahonda. In previous years, the free parking has been well received by central merchants, who see an increase in customers as they do not have to worry about parking tickets.

The City Council recommends that drivers, starting September 1, return to using the parking meters as normal and reminds them that blue zone spaces remain subject to rotation, so parking for longer than allowed is not permitted even though payment is free in August.
