From July 28 to August 23, the Gran Plaza 2 shopping centre in Majadahonda hosts the free exhibition 'Legends of Motor', showcasing a Formula 1 Ferrari SF70H, pieces of Fernando Alonso, and champion motorcycles like 'Aspar'.
The Gran Plaza 2 shopping centre in Majadahonda has become a temple of motors since this Tuesday. The free exhibition 'Legends of Motor', which can be visited until August 23, brings together original vehicles and items that trace the history of motorsport, motorcycling, and endurance racing.
The exhibition, located in the dining area of the centre, offers a journey through the most emblematic moments of Spanish and international motorsport. Among the star pieces is a Ferrari SF70H, the single-seater with which Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen competed in the 2017 Formula 1 season.
Alongside the Italian racing car, the space dedicates a special section to Fernando Alonso. Fans will be able to see the signed race suit with which the Asturian driver won his two world titles, his original helmet, and the shirt from his time at Renault. The complete equipment he used at Ferrari is also on display, including suit, helmet, boots, and gloves.
The representation of Formula 1 is completed with historical items from Carlos Sainz, such as his fireproof suit from Red Bull or the boots and gloves he wore at the Monaco Grand Prix. There are also items from Jaime Alguersuari and Marc Gené.
Motorcycling holds a prominent place in the exhibition. Visitors will be able to see the 1996 competition Aprilia of Jorge Martínez 'Aspar', accompanied by his original race suit. The exhibition also includes items from legends like Marc Márquez, Jorge Lorenzo, Ángel Nieto, and Valentino Rossi.
The world of rally and Dakar also has its space, with clothing from Nani Roma and other drivers who have made history on two and four wheels.
The exhibition features free audioguides accessible via QR code, allowing attendees to delve deeper into the history of each piece. Access is free and open during all shopping centre hours.
This exhibition arrives at a time of special excitement for motors in the Community of Madrid, just months before the region hosts a Grand Prix that has generated great anticipation. 'Legends of Motor' aims to connect new generations with the nostalgia of the great races at Jarama in the 70s and 80s.
For the residents of Majadahonda and the rest of the region, the exhibition represents a unique opportunity to see pieces that rarely leave private collections or museums. The visiting hours are the same as those of the shopping centre, from Monday to Sunday, and no reservation is needed.
