The General Directorate of Civil Protection, under the Madrid 112 Security and Emergency Agency, has announced the transition to level 0 heatwave risk in the Community of Madrid, according to the Action Plan for High Temperature Episodes. This measure, effective from today, August 3, 2026, applies to the three meteosalud zones into which the region is divided.
Specifically, the South, Vegas, and West zone, which includes Aranjuez and other municipalities in the southern part of the region, is at level 0, indicating a situation of normality and low risk. The same applies to the Sierra de Madrid zone and the Metropolitan and Henares zone.
The level calculation has been carried out using an algorithm that takes into account the maximum temperatures forecast for today and the next two days, compared with the reference thresholds for each geographical area. This information comes from the Environmental Health Risk Surveillance Area of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Health Department.
For residents of Aranjuez and the rest of the South zone, this level 0 means that extreme temperatures are not expected that would require activating special preventive measures, although health authorities continue to recommend staying hydrated and avoiding sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day.
