The Alcalá de Henares City Council continues its Urban Maintenance Plan with the repair of the surface at the BRIPAC roundabout, one of the busiest entrances to the city.
The Alcalá de Henares City Council has launched a new initiative within the Urban Maintenance Plan, focused on the BRIPAC roundabout, in the section owned by the municipality. The work focuses on repairing the surface in the most deteriorated areas, especially in the section towards the A2 bridge, where heavy vehicle traffic has caused notable wear.
The Department of Works and Urban Maintenance, led by Antonio Saldaña, has explained that the intervention aims to improve road safety and circulation conditions at one of the city's most frequented access points. The plan, which has a total budget of €550,000, includes minor repairs to road surfaces, sidewalks, and other public space elements.
This initiative adds to those already carried out on Alalpardo, Paseo de Pastrana, Dámaso Alonso, Carmen Descalzo, and Santiago streets. According to the councillor, the plan prioritises areas with the most wear due to continuous use or high traffic intensity, aiming to extend the lifespan of municipal infrastructures.
The work will take place over the coming days and may cause temporary disruptions to traffic and bus services. The City Council assures that any inconveniences will be properly signposted to minimise impacts on drivers.
“We continue to advance in a plan of actions that allows us to respond to the conservation needs of our streets and public spaces. These types of interventions are essential to keep the city in good condition and ensure more comfortable and safe mobility for residents and visitors,” highlighted Antonio Saldaña.
Residents of Alcalá de Henares using this roundabout should pay attention to the temporary signage and anticipate possible delays in their journeys, especially during peak hours. The intervention is part of a broader plan that will continue in other areas of the city over the coming months.
