Móstoles completes 200 accessibility and safety improvements in Estoril I

Móstoles completes over 200 actions in Estoril I: pavement, curbs, pedestrian crossings, and new PMR spaces as part of the municipal intensive plan.

The mayor Manuel Bautista visited the Estoril I neighbourhood to check the results of the more than 200 actions from the intensive plan, which include accessibility, pavement, and new lighting.

The Móstoles City Council has completed over 200 actions from the intensive plan in the Estoril I neighbourhood, a package of improvements focused on accessibility and road safety. The mayor, Manuel Bautista, accompanied by the councillor for Urban Planning, Sergio Soler, and the president of District Board 3 South-East, Ángeles García, toured the main streets to assess the results of the work.

The works included the renewal of the pavement surface layers, the repair of damaged curbs, and the removal of architectural barriers, as a precursor to the resurfacing plan that the council has planned for the area. In total, over 315 square meters of tiles, 90 square meters of terrace, and 60 square meters of concrete have been installed, in addition to replacing 6 square meters of cobblestone and placing 213 linear meters of curb.

Road safety has also been a focus: 9 lighting covers and 34 traffic signs have been renewed, 6 new bollards have been installed, and 16 meters of fencing have been replaced. Additionally, three new pedestrian crossings have been created, and two new spaces for People with Reduced Mobility (PMR) have been established, aiming to facilitate more comfortable and safe circulation for all residents.

The plan has also included cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as the repair of bollards and signs, and the installation of a new light point between Montecarlo Street and Camino de Leganés. These actions are part of a municipal strategy that is applied neighbourhood by neighbourhood across the different districts of Móstoles.

During the visit, the mayor highlighted that "with all these actions, we continue to work towards achieving a more cared-for, accessible, safe city that meets the needs of all Móstoles residents." The improvements in Estoril I add to those already made in other parts of the municipality, as part of a general urban maintenance plan.
