Boubacar Ba Ba, known as Buba, leaves the Getafe reserve team to join Compostela. The 21-year-old forward signs until June 2027 and becomes the seventh reinforcement for the Galician team.
The forward Boubacar Ba Ba, better known as Buba, is heading to Santiago de Compostela. The young attacker, 21 years old, leaves Getafe B to sign for Compostela until June 2027. The Galician club announced the agreement on Thursday, making Buba their seventh signing for the upcoming season.
Trained in the youth categories of Llagostera, Europa, and Cádiz, Buba joined the blue-and-white reserve team in 2024. In his only full season with Getafe B, he played 18 matches in the fifth group of the Segunda Federación, two of them as a starter, and scored one goal. His goal came in matchday 28, against Rayo Vallecano B, when he came on in the 72nd minute and sealed the 3-0 in the 82nd minute.
A forward with physique and mobility
The new striker for Compostela stands at 1.88 meters and is noted for his physical strength, ability to hold off defenders, and mobility in the final third, as highlighted by the Santiago club. At San Lázaro, they appreciate that his profile combines off-the-ball work, pressing intensity, and presence in the area, characteristics that align with the identity sought by the Compos project.
Buba has already had contact with football in the Community of Madrid. Last season, Getafe B finished the regular league in fourth place, thirteen points behind the champions, Rayo Majadahonda. The Majariegos played in the promotion playoff against Logroñés but were eliminated in the first round. Buba did not play any minutes in that final phase.
Career in Tercera Federación
Before joining the Getafe reserve team, Buba played two seasons in the Tercera Federación. In the 2024-2025 season, he played 31 matches and scored 9 goals with Diocesano. In the 2023-2024 season, he represented La Palma, with 28 matches and one goal. The forward faces this new challenge with the hope of continuing to evolve, according to sources from Compostela.
Compostela, which competes in the first group of the Segunda Federación, thus strengthens its attack with a young player with room for growth. Buba will join the first team's training this Friday, where he will meet his new teammates.
The blue-and-white attacker participated in eighteen league matches, although he was only a starter twice. His first start came in matchday 10, in the draw (0-0) between Getafe B and Conquense, in November of last year. He was substituted in the 54th minute. His second and final start came in the last match of the regular league, at Orihuela, where Getafe B lost 2-1. He was replaced in the 60th minute.
With Buba's departure, the Getafe reserve team loses one of its offensive pieces. The players responsible for finishing attacking plays in the blue-and-white team last season were midfielder Alejandro Mestanza (12 goals) and forwards Rubén Torres, Rubi (11), and Joselu Pérez (9). Compostela, for its part, adds another piece to its attack in an exciting season.
