The Bullfighting Fair of Our Lady of Remedies 2026 in Colmenar Viejo will take place from August 29 to September 2 with three bullfights and two novilladas. The season ticket will go on sale on August 18.
The Colmenar Viejo City Council presented this week the programme for the Bullfighting Fair of Our Lady of Remedies 2026, which will be held from August 29 to September 2. The poster includes three bullfights and two novilladas, all at 18:30, featuring bullfighting stars such as Talavante, Juan Ortega and Diego Urdiales.
Five afternoons of bullfighting in the Colmenar Viejo arena
The cycle will kick off on Saturday August 29 with a novillada with picadors. The novilleros David López, Álvaro Serrano and Ignacio Garibay will face cattle from the Blohorn ranch. The following day, Sunday 30, will see the first bullfight, with bulls from Manuel Assunçao Coimbra for the matadors Román, Miguel de Pablo and Clemente.
On Monday August 31, it will be the turn of the bulls from Núñez del Cubillo, who will be fought by Talavante, Juan Ortega and Pablo Aguado. On Tuesday, September 1, the Juan Manuel Criado ranch will provide cattle for Diego Urdiales, David de Miranda and Víctor Hernández. The final event, on Wednesday, September 2, will feature a novillada without picadors with calves from Ginés Bartolomé and the novilleros Rodrigo Cobo, Marco Peláez and Rubén Vara.
Parallel activities and bullfighting tradition
The fair is not limited to events in the arena. The programme includes the traditional oxen transfer on August 27, a release of cattle on the 30th, and exhibitions of small oxen. The Councillor for Bullfighting Affairs, Felipe Mansilla Nogales, highlighted during the presentation that the fair "is a hallmark of our patron festivities and an economic engine for the town." The event was attended by the mayor, Carlos Blázquez Rodríguez, and was hosted by journalist Javier Fernández-Mardomingo.
For the residents of Colmenar Viejo, the fair is an unmissable summer event. Local clubs and fans are already preparing season tickets, which allow attendance at all five events with a discount. Additionally, the organisation has planned a special season ticket for those over 65 and large families.
Ticket sales: key dates not to miss
Season ticket sales will begin on August 18 and will run until August 22. Individual tickets will go on sale from August 24. Interested parties can purchase them at the bullring box office during morning and afternoon hours, or through the municipal website. Only one representative from each club may collect the season tickets. For more information, you can call 644 308 403 starting August 18.
Colmenar Viejo thus maintains its commitment to bullfighting, at a time of debate over the continuation of fairs in the Community of Madrid. For now, fans have already marked the dates on their calendars.
