The MAD (Madrid Digital Arts) centre will launch an immersive experience based on Homer's Odyssey on 18 September 2026, featuring virtual reality, the metaverse, and holographic installations. For the first time, the production will be available in English.

The MAD Immersive Experience Centre has announced a new production that will open its doors on 18 September 2026: an adaptation of The Odyssey by Homer. The project transports the audience to Mycenaean Greece to relive Odysseus's trials on his return to Ithaca, from the Trojan War to the encounter with the Cyclops Polyphemus and the Sirens.

The exhibition, designed for the whole family, combines stage recreations, immersive 360° projections, a metaverse space, multisensory virtual reality, and a holographic installation. Visitors, equipped with noise-cancelling headphones, navigate an interactive world where they can open doors or take a torch to light their way, guided by the voice of Homer as the narrator.

One of the new features is that, for the first time, the immersive film is not presented as a single sequence, but as eight independent stories, each with its own visual language, atmosphere, and original soundtrack. Thus, the narrative approaches eight short films gathered under one roof.

Moreover, for the first time in the studio's history, the experience will be available in English, including the main immersive room, the metaverse, the holographic installation, and the information panels. This makes it the most accessible production created to date by MAD.

The Madrid centre has a notable international track record with previous productions such as Tutankhamun, The Last Days of Pompeii, The Legend of the Titanic, and Cleopatra, which have visited 24 cities across four continents and have surpassed five million spectators worldwide.

For the people of Madrid, this event represents an opportunity to engage with one of the great classics of literature in a novel and educational way, in a format designed for both adults and children to share the adventure. Tickets and schedules can be checked on the official MAD centre website.
