The San Cayetano, San Lorenzo, and La Paloma festivities will fill the centre with free music from August 4 to 16. Celtas Cortos, Soleá Morente, and Miss Caffeina are among the highlights.
The Centro District of Madrid is preparing for its big month. From August 4 to 16, the San Cayetano, San Lorenzo, and Virgen de la Paloma festivities will turn El Rastro, Lavapiés, and La Latina into a continuous stage of live music, with all concerts free and outdoors.
The programme is spread across six stages throughout the district, with performances starting at 20:00 and DJ sessions lasting until two in the morning on weekends. The Municipal Board of the Centre warns that the programme may undergo last-minute changes, so it recommends checking the City Council's website before heading out.
San Cayetano kicks off in El Rastro
The festivities begin on Tuesday, August 4, at Plaza General Vara de Rey and Calle Ribera de Curtidores, 2. The first stage will feature Raya Real and DJ Mario PG, while the second will host The Zona Rock Band and DJ Kactux.
On Wednesday, August 5, the traditional 'Chulapa' performance with Amanda Verdú will open the day in Vara de Rey, followed by Jarana and DJ Paulo. On Thursday, August 6, it will be the turn of the Corrala de Zarzuela and Soleá Morente, one of the most anticipated acts of these early days.
On Friday, August 7, Plaza General Vara de Rey will welcome María Rodríguez, the duo Montoya & Carmona with 'La juerga flamenca', and DJ Madent. In Ribera de Curtidores, the winner of the 'Destino San Cayetano 2026' contest will perform, yet to be revealed.
San Lorenzo takes over Lavapiés
From August 8 to 11, Plaza Arturo Barea will become the epicentre of the San Lorenzo festivities. On Saturday, August 8, the tribute to Sabina 'La Penúltima Sabinera' will kick off, followed by DJ Paulo.
On Sunday, August 9, there will be zarzuela with 'Zarzuela de mujeres' and Los Vinagres By Vibra Mahou. On Monday, August 10, Metroolé and DJ Madent will perform, and on Tuesday, August 11, Manuel de Segura will present his 'Copla castiza' before Lotus and DJ Pakito.
La Paloma closes with big names
The final stretch arrives with the Virgen de la Paloma, from August 13 to 16, featuring two main stages: the Jardines de las Vistillas and Plaza de la Paja. On Thursday, August 13, Celtas Cortos will be the main act in Vistillas, while in Plaza de la Paja, the Orquesta Tucán will perform, and the first salve to the Virgin will be held by Manuel de Segura.
On Friday, August 14, nostalgia will take over Vistillas with 'Regreso a los 80', a concert featuring Los Refrescos, Modestia Aparte, and Fernandisco. In Plaza de la Paja, the event will be 'Regreso a los 90' with Eva Martí and the salve by Elena Rodríguez Vidal.
On Saturday, August 15, Olga María Ramos and Depol will liven up Vistillas, while in Plaza de la Paja, there will be a special Roneo Brunch session with La Plazuela and DJ Bea Miau By Vibra Mahou. On Sunday, August 16, Miss Caffeina will provide the grand finale in Vistillas, with Karavana and DJ Tama in Plaza de la Paja.
All events will have a sign language interpreter. The municipal board's recommendation is clear: take your party spirit out of the cupboard and choose a square, because in August, the centre of Madrid dances.
