The municipal programme for healthy nightlife 'Sube-T' continues this Friday, August 31, with the Urban Festival, which includes rap battles, rap, karaoke, and free snacks at the Juncal Park Amphitheatre.
Torrejón de Ardoz will celebrate the Urban Festival this Friday, August 31, a new event in the municipal programme for healthy nightlife 'Sube-T', aimed at young people aged 14 to 25. The free activity will take place from 19:00 to 23:00 at the Juncal Park Amphitheatre and will include rap battles, rap, karaoke, and snacks.
The initiative, organised by the Torrejón de Ardoz City Council, aims to provide healthy leisure alternatives during summer nights, combining music, rhythm, and fun in a controlled environment supervised by educators and socio-cultural animators. These professionals have specific training in addiction prevention and provide informational material on harm reduction and the risks of substance use.
The 'Sube-T' programme runs on Fridays and Saturdays in July and September, offering a wide range of free activities that include sports, culture, and healthy leisure. Upcoming proposals include a BMX exhibition and class, a paddle tournament, night hiking, and the Torresón Fest '26, scheduled for Friday, October 2, as a special closing event.
The programme, partially funded by the Ministry of Health, aims to prevent substance use and other addictive behaviours, promote active lifestyles, and enhance the physical and mental well-being of young people. 'Sube-T' has been nationally recognised with the second prize in the category of best indicated community prevention practice at the VI Call for Good Practices by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) in 2016.
Those interested can obtain more information through the programme's social media at @subet_torrejon or by scanning the QR code on the informational posters distributed throughout the city.
This Friday's Urban Festival presents an opportunity for the young people of Torrejón de Ardoz to enjoy a different night in a safe and risk-free environment, with activities that encourage creativity and artistic expression. The rap battles and rap are two of the main attractions, alongside karaoke, which will allow attendees to showcase their vocal talents.
The Torrejón de Ardoz City Council encourages all young people in the municipality to participate in this initiative, which has already seen great success in previous editions. The event is this Friday, August 31, from 19:00 to 23:00 at the Juncal Park Amphitheatre. Admission is free and open to all.
