The festivities in honour of Our Lady of Carmen will be held from July 15 to 18 in the La Estación neighbourhood, featuring concerts by Hermanos Martínez and Rockeros Solidarios, children's activities, and the traditional procession.
The La Estación neighbourhood of Pozuelo de Alarcón is preparing for four days of intense festive activity. From Wednesday, July 15, to Saturday, July 18, the festivities in honour of Our Lady of Carmen will fill this area of the city with music, games, and traditions. The liturgical events began yesterday with a mass and floral offering at the parish of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, which will continue on Thursday, July 16, with a solemn mass and the procession accompanied by the Coral Kantorei and the Banda La Unión Musical.
Concerts and activities for all audiences
On Wednesday, July 15, the fairground and children's activity area will open at Parque Prados de Torrejón. There, the little ones can enjoy bouncy castles, a jumping park, and a playroom throughout the day. That same day, at noon, a large communal paella will be held, and in the evening, the group Rockeros Solidarios will perform.
On Thursday, July 16, a local holiday, the highlight will be the concert by Hermanos Martínez on the park stage. Residents can enjoy their music starting at 10:00 PM. Friday will be dedicated to traditions, with the parade of the Giants and Big-heads of Pozuelo, the traditional Encierro Chiqui organised by the Seis y Medio group, and a communal snack in collaboration with the La Estación group.
In the evening, the fairground will host the concert ‘Talento Pozuelo’, featuring performances by Lili Ritz, Todo mal, and El Muerto Rafa. Additionally, the group ‘La Tremenda’ will pay tribute to Pereza, Leiva, and El Canto del Loco, with DJ Pulpo providing entertainment.
A festive closing with a maritime flavour
On Saturday, July 18, the last day of the festivities, the day will start with a visit to the museum of the Giants and Big-heads at the El Torreón auditorium. Throughout the morning, local groups will offer a rondón, and children can enjoy the children’s show ‘La hora del recreo’ by the Aragón brothers.
In the afternoon, a maritime parade will wind through the streets of the neighbourhood, followed by a tribute concert to La Oreja de Van Gogh. The day will culminate with a fireworks display and a session by DJ Willy Alcocer. The residents of Pozuelo have an unmissable appointment with music, fun, and tradition in these festivities that, once again, make La Estación the epicentre of social life in the municipality.
