The bullring of La Corredera hosted the presentation of the Virgen de los Remedios Bullfighting Fair, which will take place from 29 August to 2 September with three bullfights and two novice fights.

The mayor of Colmenar Viejo, Carlos Blázquez, along with the councillor for Bullfighting Affairs, Felipe Mansilla, and businessman Carlos Zúñiga, unveiled the posters for the Virgen de los Remedios 2026 Fair this Wednesday. The event, which will take place at the La Corredera bullring, combines established figures with young talents in bullfighting.

A balanced fair for the Madrid audience

Carlos Zúñiga described the lineup as "a very balanced fair and very much for the Madrid audience in terms of bullfighters." He highlighted the presence of winners from San Isidro such as Talavante, Urdiales, Román, and Álvaro Serrano, alongside figures like David de Miranda, a winner in Seville, and Juan Ortega, the last winner of the "Yiyo" Trophy in Colmenar.

On the livestock front, Zúñiga explained that the fair will feature herds "in great form" such as Cuvillo and Juan Manuel Criado, newcomers like Coimbra and Blohorn, and the local livestock of Ginés Bartolomé. "We continue to bet on the future without renouncing quality," the businessman concluded.

Posters announced for five days of bullfighting

The fair kicks off on Saturday, 29 August, with a novice fight featuring Blohorn for David López, Álvaro Serrano, and Ignacio Garibay. Mayor Blázquez highlighted the municipal support for the sector: "We have a specific area for bullfighting affairs due to the great value we place on this tradition."

Popular festivities and street atmosphere

In addition to the bullfights, the fair includes popular activities. On Thursday, 27 August at 20:00, the unloading of the cattle for the novice fights on 29 and 30 will take place.
