The Getafe neighbourhood of Perales del Río celebrates its 2026 Neighbourhood Festivities from July 15 to 20 with a programme that includes concerts, sports, a procession, and fireworks.

The neighbourhood of Perales del Río, in Getafe, is adorned to experience six intense days of festivities from Wednesday, July 15, to Monday, July 20. The programme, organised by the Festivities Commission with the support of the Getafe City Council, offers activities for all ages.

Religious and musical programme to kick off

On Thursday, July 16, coinciding with the feast of Our Lady of Carmen, there will be a Eucharistic celebration and a procession through the streets of the neighbourhood. In the evening, the Fairgrounds will host the performance of the duo ‘Doble Sentido’ and a DJ session.

Friday, July 17, will be dedicated to sports and crafts. In the afternoon, the semi-finals of the billiards tournament and the petanque tournament will take place, along with a children's painting activity. At 8:00 PM, the Charanga Alianza will lead the inaugural parade, and at 11:00 PM, the opening speech will be given by María José Montero García, coordinator of the Civic Centre, in recognition of her work.

Colourful charity festival on Saturday

Saturday, July 18, will start with Graffiti Day and the 2nd Charity March against Childhood Cancer, with proceeds going to the CRIS Unit. Throughout the day, there will be modern board games with ‘V Perales Juega’, sports tournaments, and a Full Body Master Class. In the evening, the fun will intensify with the Holi Festival at 7:00 PM and the Foam Party at 7:30 PM. The night will conclude with the pop/rock cover band ‘Menos es Más’ and DJ Omar's performance.

Sunday, July 19, will kick off with the Bike Festival and petanque tournaments for children. At 2:00 PM, a Popular Paella will be held, and in the afternoon, residents can enjoy the Water Festival, the Day of the Clubs with traditional games, and the children's performance ‘Chup Chup’. After the awards ceremony and the flamenco performance by ‘Davidiri’, the day will culminate at midnight with fireworks and the grand finale of the festivities.

A neighbourhood committed to its traditions

The Councillor for Culture of the Getafe City Council, Luis Domínguez, encouraged residents “to enjoy these days of gathering, participating in the activities prepared with so much effort and enthusiasm by the Festivities Commission.” The annual event has become a reference point for coexistence in the neighbourhood, bringing together hundreds of families each year.

For the residents of Perales del Río, these festivities represent a unique opportunity to strengthen neighbourly ties and enjoy six days of leisure without leaving the neighbourhood. The organisation is managed by the Festivities Commission, made up of local entities, clubs, groups, and associations, with logistical support from the council.

The events will take place at the Fairgrounds and various streets in the neighbourhood. The weather forecast indicates sunny days, ideal for outdoor activities. On Monday, July 20, the last day, no events are scheduled, but the local clubs and bars usually maintain the festive atmosphere.
