The Tres Cantos City Council has renewed the collaboration agreement with the Tres Cantos Golf Club, endowed with 7,000 euros, to promote the practice of this sport among residents of all ages.

The Tres Cantos Golf Club will continue to receive financial support from the City Council throughout 2026. The grant, amounting to 7,000 euros, will be allocated to the organization of sports activities, tournaments, and competitions open to both members and other residents of the municipality.

The Councillor for Sports, Eduardo Lorca, explained that the objective is twofold: on one hand, to promote healthy lifestyle habits through golf, and on the other, to encourage citizen participation in the sports field. “We want golf to be accessible to everyone, regardless of their age or level,” he stated.

The Mayor, Jesús Moreno, highlighted that the renewal of the agreement reaffirms the commitment of the City Council to local sports entities. “These clubs work throughout the year to promote physical activity and convey values such as effort, perseverance, and overcoming challenges,” he emphasized.

The news comes at a particularly sweet moment for the Tres Cantos Golf Club. The team has just been crowned champion of the 2025 Clubs Without Course League, a title that adds to an already impressive record. With this victory, the club has become the only one in the Community of Madrid to have won all competitions organized by the Clubs Without Course Committee of the Madrid Golf Federation: the Weekend League, the Midweek League, the Madrid Championship, and the Supercup.

This success reflects the good work of the entity, which has a pool of players and a solid structure. The municipal grant will allow for the continued organization of tournaments that give visibility to the club and attract new participants.

For the residents of Tres Cantos, the agreement means the opportunity to access quality sports activities without the need to travel to other municipalities. Golf, traditionally considered an elite sport, is thus reaching a broader audience, with initiatives ranging from children's schools to competitions for adults.

The agreement is valid for one year, although both parties hope to maintain the collaboration in the future. The City Council has already announced that it will continue to support local clubs as part of its strategy to promote grassroots sports and healthy living.

Those interested in participating in the activities of the Tres Cantos Golf Club can find out through their official channels or at the municipal facilities. The tournament calendar for 2026 will be published soon.
