The City Council of San Sebastián de los Reyes has allocated 600,000 euros for improvement works in all public educational centres in the municipality, which will be completed before the start of the new term.
The City Council of San Sebastián de los Reyes has launched an investment plan of 600,000 euros to renovate the facilities of the public schools in the municipality. The works, which began during the school holidays, include conservation, safety, and energy efficiency measures, and are expected to be completed before students return to the classrooms in September.
The programme covers all public educational centres in the locality. Among the planned works are the renovation of restrooms, painting jobs, improvements in playgrounds, and the repair or replacement of locksmith elements, with the aim of keeping the buildings in optimal condition.
In addition to these ordinary works, the council will carry out several more significant interventions. At the La Locomotora Nursery School, the interior wooden carpentry will be replaced; at the CEIP Fuente Santa, the exterior aluminium carpentry will be renewed; and at the CEIP León Felipe, new aluminium carpentry will be installed in several classrooms.
Another highlighted measure is the installation of lifelines on the roofs of the Tierno Galván and León Felipe schools. This action aims to ensure that future maintenance tasks can be carried out under the safest conditions for the workers.
The planning of this investment plan has been the result of joint work between the Departments of Education and Public Works and Maintenance, along with the management of the educational centres. The actions respond both to the needs conveyed by the educational communities and to the priorities identified by the municipal technicians responsible for the conservation of the buildings.
With this investment, the City Council of San Sebastián de los Reyes seeks to improve the well-being of students and increase the safety of the facilities, preparing the schools for the new academic year. Parents can rest assured: the works will be completed before the return to school.
