A total of 1,605 applications have been registered by the City Council of San Sebastián de los Reyes for school scholarships for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. These aids, which total a budget of €600,000, will benefit 2,393 children and young people in the municipality.
Correction period open until July 29
The council has published the provisional lists of accepted and rejected applications on its website. Families can check their status in the Education section of the municipal website. Those who detect errors or omissions will have a correction period of ten working days, from July 16 to 29.
For any queries, the Education Service is available at the email becas.educacion@ssreyes.org. It is necessary to indicate the name, surname, and ID number of the applicant to expedite the response.
Two lines of aid: dining and school material
Of the €600,000 budgeted, €400,000 is allocated to school dining aid and €200,000 to school material. The dining aids are for students registered in San Sebastián de los Reyes who are in the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary, Secondary, or Special Education in public or subsidised schools in the Community of Madrid.
The school material aids cover from the second cycle of Early Childhood Education to Baccalaureate, Basic or Intermediate Vocational Training, and Special Education, also in public or subsidised schools. The grants will be awarded on a basis of competitive concurrence until the budget is exhausted.
How it affects families in the municipality
For families in San Sebastián de los Reyes, these aids represent an economic relief in a context of rising prices. The correction period is key: those who have not submitted all the documentation can correct it without losing the chance for the scholarship. It is recommended to review the lists as soon as possible.
“The aim is to provide financial support to families in the municipality,” municipal sources state.
Last year, the call also registered high demand, with over 1,500 applications. This increase reflects the need for these aids in the locality.
Next steps
After the correction period, the City Council will publish the definitive lists and begin to disburse the aids. Payments are expected to be made throughout the first quarter of the school year. All information is available at www.ssreyes.org.
