The City Council of San Sebastián de los Reyes has launched a new venue for the Employment and Social Activation Service (SIAL), featuring a computer room and space for selection processes. This initiative comes after reducing municipal unemployment to 5.7% in June.
San Sebastián de los Reyes now has renovated facilities for the Employment and Social Activation Service (SIAL), which is part of the City Council's Social Services. The new space, located in the municipality, will expand support for residents seeking work and improve resources for guidance and training.
The venue includes a multifunctional meeting room where selection processes with collaborating companies have already taken place, according to the City Council. Additionally, it features a computer room with eight computer stations for active job search workshops, which SIAL users can use both in the morning and in the afternoon.
An environment tailored to users' needs
The SIAL team has highlighted “the importance of having a welcoming environment that promotes the development of program activities and enhances the experience of participating individuals.” The new facilities are designed to cover different phases of the employment insertion process, from initial guidance to mediation with companies.
The launch of this space is part of municipal employment policies, which have yielded positive results in the municipality. San Sebastián de los Reyes closed June 2026 with an unemployment rate of 5.7%, the lowest in its history, after reducing unemployment by 56 people during that month.
A historic drop in unemployment
The decline in unemployment in the locality has deep roots: in 2025, it was reduced to 5.8%, improving upon the 6% rate at the end of 2024. These figures position San Sebastián de los Reyes as one of the municipalities with the lowest unemployment in the Community of Madrid and reflect the impact of local and regional employment initiatives.
For residents, the new SIAL venue represents an additional resource for accessing digital tools and practical training, with extended hours that facilitate work-life balance. The service is available during regular hours, and interested parties can find information through municipal channels.
The City Council continues to work on new actions to maintain this positive trend, aiming for unemployment to keep decreasing in the coming months.
