The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFW Madrid) will celebrate its 84th edition from September 14 to 19, 2026, outside the Ifema exhibition centre, with its main venue at the Universidad Nebrija campus. The runway will feature 33 brands and new awards for Hannibal Laguna and Agua by Agua Bendita.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFW Madrid) is preparing for a historic edition. The 84th event, taking place from September 14 to 19, 2026, will leave the Ifema exhibition centre for the first time to settle in the heart of the capital. The main venue will be the Communication and Arts campus in Madrid - San Francisco de Sales at Universidad Nebrija, within the central area defined by the M-30.

The decision is part of the strategic plan presented to mark the 40th anniversary of the runway, which aims to bring fashion closer to the city and the public. “For six days, the city will once again become the epicentre of Spanish fashion through a programme that combines talent, craftsmanship, and new creative narratives,” the organisers highlighted in a statement.

The event will take place across three official venues and five exclusive locations in iconic spaces throughout Madrid. The schedule has been moved forward: it will start on a Monday and end on a Saturday, maintaining the six-day duration of recent editions.

The runway will feature the participation of 33 brands, designers, and institutions, presenting their collections for the Spring/Summer 2027 season. Among the new features, special awards have been confirmed. Designer Hannibal Laguna will receive the “National Designer” award, while the Colombian brand Agua by Agua Bendita, founded by Catalina Álvarez and Mariana Hinestroza, will be recognised as “International Designer.”

Additionally, a new award has been created: the “Fashion Game Changers Recognition,” which will be awarded to the Latin American Fashion Awards platform, founded by Constanza Cavalli Etro and Silvia Argüello. This distinction recognises their contribution to transforming the narrative of Latin American fashion and their role in redefining Latin America's place in the global fashion system. The platform will also be a “special guest” at this edition, facilitating the presence of Agua by Agua Bendita in Madrid.

The awards are part of a system of up to 11 categories that will be announced during fashion week, in addition to this new mention. The organisation has not yet detailed the winners of the other categories, which will be decided soon.

For attendees, the move to the city centre represents a significant change. Presentations will be spread between the Universidad Nebrija campus and other yet-to-be-confirmed spaces, allowing Madrileños and visitors to enjoy the shows without needing to travel to the outskirts. The organisation envisions a runway model that is “more open, dynamic, and connected to the heart of the city.”

The September 2026 edition will be the first to take place entirely within the urban layout of Madrid, marking a turning point in the history of MBFW Madrid. The event, organised by Ifema Madrid with the support of the Madrid City Council, aims to consolidate its role as an international platform for Spanish fashion.
