The events brand of Hospital Records, the British label founded in 1996, will celebrate its first night in the capital on December 5 at La Riviera, organised by Iboga Rave and Twist DNB Club.
On December 5, Madrid will become the epicentre of international drum & bass with the arrival of Hospitality, the events brand of the legendary British label Hospital Records. The event will take place at La Riviera, one of the most iconic venues in the capital, and will be organised by two key projects in the Madrid bass scene: Iboga Rave and Twist DNB Club.
Hospital Records was born in London in 1996, founded by Tony Colman – known as London Elektricity – and Chris Goss. Since its inception, the label has distinguished itself by offering a more melodic and uplifting drum & bass, away from the darker and more aggressive sounds of the genre. For nearly three decades, it has been one of the record labels that has best showcased the breadth of drum & bass, encompassing everything from liquid funk to jungle, rollers, vocal DNB, dancefloor, and more accessible neuro.
Its catalogue has featured fundamental names such as High Contrast, London Elektricity, Netsky, Camo & Krooked, Logistics, Nu, Metrik, Fred V & Grafix, S.P.Y. and Danny Byrd. Artists who have brought the sound to clubs, festivals, radio stations, and video games, always maintaining the essence of British rave.
Hospitality, the events arm of the label, translates that imagery to the dance floor. It does not limit itself to programming artists from the Hospital Records catalogue, but offers a broad snapshot of current drum & bass, from the most emotional liquid to the most direct dancefloor. Over time, it has become a quality label for fans of the genre, with its own formats such as Hospitality in the Park, Hospitality On The Beach, and nights in historic venues around the world.
The arrival of Hospitality in Madrid coincides with the year that Hospital Records celebrates its 30th anniversary, which adds extra symbolic weight to the event. The organisation is handled by Iboga Rave and Twist DNB Club, two projects that have been fundamental to the growth of the bass scene in the capital. Although the line-up of artists has not yet been announced, anticipation is at its peak.
For drum & bass fans in Madrid, this night represents the opportunity to experience a significant part of the genre's history live. La Riviera, with its capacity and acoustics, presents itself as the ideal stage for an evening that promises to be historic. Tickets will be available soon through the usual channels of the organisers.
The event on December 5 is not just another party: it is the arrival of an institution of global drum & bass in the capital, with all that it implies for the local scene. Attendees will be able to enjoy a selection curated by the best experts in the genre, in an atmosphere that aims to be inclusive, energetic, and emotional.
While waiting for the line-up announcement, the organisers recommend keeping an eye on their social media to not miss any updates. The night promises to be a milestone in the history of electronic music in Madrid.
