Getafe CF has completed the transfer of Alejandro Lozano, 21, who signs for two seasons with Getafe B, where he will play in Segunda RFEF. The player was not part of the first team's plans at Sporting.

Getafe CF has signed Alejandro Lozano, a young 21-year-old midfielder, who arrives from Real Sporting de Gijón. The agreement, finalised this Wednesday, includes a transfer and a two-season contract with Getafe B, a team that competes in Segunda RFEF. Lozano, who was not part of the first team's plans at Sporting, becomes the first winter signing for the blue and white reserve team.

Lozano, who was trained in the Sporting academy, made his debut with the first team at just 18 years old in a Copa del Rey match against Guijuelo. In total, he played seven matches with the Sporting first team before being loaned to Real Unión Club de Irún, in Primera Federación, and later to San Fernando CD, in Segunda Federación, where he completed half a season.

The player, who last season played for Sporting Atlético in Tercera RFEF, had not been called up for the pre-season of the Sporting first team, according to sources from the Asturian club. Getafe B, managed by Manu del Moral, thus strengthens its squad with a player who has experience in higher categories and with the idea that he may start training with the first team.

Getafe CF, through its sports management, has closely followed Lozano's development in recent seasons. The blue and white club is betting on young players with potential for its reserve team, aiming for them to make the jump to the first team. Lozano, who can play as an interior or attacking midfielder, stands out for his ability to arrive and good ball control.

With this signing, Getafe B adds a player for the second half of the competition in Segunda RFEF, where they are seeking to maintain their status. Manu del Moral's team currently occupies mid-table positions, and Lozano's arrival aims to bring quality and experience to the midfield.

Lozano will report to his new coach in the coming days, once he passes the medical examination and signs his contract. Getafe B will play their next match this weekend against Rayo Cantabria, although it has not yet been confirmed whether Lozano will debut in that match.
