The Arganda del Rey Town Hall has begun work on climate control at the Casa de Niños de La Poveda nursery school this Thursday, as part of the plan to equip all public educational centres in the municipality with air conditioning.
Arganda del Rey continues with its climate control plan for public educational centres. Since this Thursday, July 23, the Casa de Niños de La Poveda nursery school has been hosting the installation of air conditioning and ventilation equipment, as reported by the Town Hall.
The initiative, announced by Mayor Alberto Escribano in November 2025, started at the CEIP Antonio Machado, which has already had the new systems in place since spring. Now it is the turn of the La Poveda nursery school, with plans to extend the works to the rest of the local schools and nurseries progressively over the coming months and years.
“We are achieving in record time what others were unable to do in eight years. And we will not stop until all public schools and nurseries in Arganda have the best conditions,” stated Alberto Escribano in comments reported by the Town Hall.
The works are part of a broader municipal strategy to improve public facilities. During the current legislature, the government led by Escribano has already acted at the Antonio Mingote Day Centre and has begun expansion works at the Senior Centre, with an investment affecting nearly 600 square metres.
The climate control of classrooms responds to the demands of the educational community, which has been calling for measures to combat high temperatures during the hot months. With this action, the Town Hall aims to ensure suitable conditions for the learning and well-being of students and teaching staff.
The Town Hall has not specified the complete schedule for the next phases but has assured that the works will continue progressively. Residents in the affected areas will be able to consult upcoming interventions through the official municipal channels.
