Arganda del Rey celebrates the oldest festivities in the municipality in honour of San Roque from August 14 to 16, with activities for all audiences.
The San Roque neighbourhood of Arganda del Rey is preparing for a weekend filled with tradition and leisure. From August 14 to 16, the Brotherhood of Glorious San Roque and the Town Hall have organised a dozen events that combine religious character with music, children's games and street parties.
The programme will kick off on Friday, August 14 with the parade of giants and big-heads, enlivened by the band Los Alcoranes. The highlight of the day will be the traditional cucaña, an event revived this term that attracts a large audience every year.
After the cucaña, the street party will be hosted by the Orquesta Stress, and the night will conclude with the disco mobile by DJ Chema Portilla.
Saturday, August 15 will be the big day in terms of music. The duo Morochos will perform a concert on Calle Real, one of the most anticipated moments of the festivities. At the end of the show, attendees can enjoy fireworks and the disco mobile with DJ Samu.
The little ones will have their own space on Saturday with the children's bull run and foam party. On Sunday the 16th, the Aquafest will provide a water finale for the children.
On Sunday, August 16, a procession will take place from the Hermitage of San Roque to the Church of San Juan Bautista, followed by the solemn Eucharist, which will conclude three days of festivities in the Arganda neighbourhood.
The organisation reminds that all activities are free to access and are designed for locals and visitors to enjoy festivities that blend devotion and fun in the middle of August.
