The Arganda del Rey City Council has signed an agreement with CabinPaq to install 12 multifunction booths that will allow direct contact with the Local Police. The devices, which are already operational in other cities like Torrejón de Ardoz, will arrive in the coming months.
Arganda del Rey will have 12 smart CabinPaq booths in the coming months, multifunction devices that will serve as direct meeting points with the Local Police. The City Council, led by Alberto Escribano, signed an agreement with the company on July 16 for the free installation of these booths at various locations in the town.
The mayor, Alberto Escribano, visited Torrejón de Ardoz this Wednesday, one of the cities where these devices are already in operation, to check their functionality. "From day one, we said we wanted for Arganda what works in the best cities in Spain. We continue to deliver on our promises and providing solutions we never would have imagined for real problems," the mayor highlighted.
The CabinPaq booths, which have already been implemented in major cities like Seville, offer a direct contact button with the Local Police of Arganda, as well as quick access to emergency services 112, National Police, Civil Guard, and the Gender Violence Support Service. They also include lockers for sending and receiving packages, a free-use 5G wifi network, and wireless charging for mobile phones.
Additionally, each booth will feature an interactive map with the city's event schedule and real-time data on traffic or air quality, making these devices useful for both security and citizen information.
The installation of these booths responds to an electoral commitment from the municipal government, which seeks "what works in the best cities in Spain," as explained by Escribano himself. The agreement stipulates that the installation will be free for the City Council, although maintenance costs and exact installation timelines have not been detailed.
The residents of Arganda will be able to use these meeting points to quickly and directly contact the Local Police in case of incidents, as well as to access emergency services without the need to use a mobile phone. The exact locations of the 12 booths have not yet been made public, but they are expected to be distributed across different neighbourhoods of the city to ensure broad coverage.
The arrival of CabinPaq represents another step in the municipality's innovation and security strategy, which already has other digital services for citizen assistance. With this initiative, Arganda joins the list of towns that are betting on these technological solutions to bring administration and public services closer to citizens.
