The leisure and culture programme 'Veranísimos' in Las Rozas concludes its edition with a tribute to Joan Manuel Serrat, a concert by the Joven Orquesta de la Sierra de Madrid, and two summer cinema sessions.
Las Rozas puts the finishing touch on its leisure and culture programme 'Veranísimos', which since June 19 has offered a wide cultural proposal for all audiences in different spaces throughout the municipality. The farewell includes a tribute to singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat, a concert by the Joven Orquesta de la Sierra de Madrid (JOSM), and two summer cinema sessions.
The highlight arrives this Friday at the Dehesa de Navalcarbón, where at 22:30 hours the performance 'En Tránsito' will reinterpret Serrat's most emblematic songs from a contemporary perspective, blending jazz, blues, and improvisation. Led by pianist and arranger Alberto Alonso, the project features Baldo Martínez on double bass, Sir Charles on drums, and Alberto Cunha on vocals. Together, they will explore themes such as 'Mediterráneo', 'Lucía', 'Para la libertad', and 'Hoy puede ser un gran día', transformed into new soundscapes.
Tickets for this tribute can be purchased online through the Giglon platform or at the box office of the Auditorio Joaquín Rodrigo. The concert promises a sober and intimate staging, combining intimate moments with instrumentals of great interpretative richness, while maintaining the poetry and emotion of the original compositions.
Earlier that same night, the Auditorio Joaquín Rodrigo will host the 'Noche de Clásica' at 21:30 hours by the JOSM, the resident orchestra of the Fundación Cultura Las Rozas. The evening will feature Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, performed by 13-year-old violinist Nanami Anasagasti, considered one of the most promising talents with significant international projection. The programme will also include Sibelius's Symphony No. 3 in C Major and Offenbach's Can Can. The direction will be by Javier Hermossa, with Ricardo Guzmán as guest conductor.
Summer cinema also has its place in this farewell. On Friday, at the amphitheatre of Parque 1º de Mayo, 'Mufasa: The Lion King' will be screened, a prequel to the classic Disney story that narrates the origins of the legendary king of the Kingdom Lands. The event is at 22:00 hours. On Saturday, at the Auditorio del Parque París, at 22:00 hours, the season will close with 'Paddington: Adventure in the Jungle', a family comedy that combines digital characters with live action.
The 'Veranísimos' programme has included this year summer cinema, a new cycle of classic films, concerts, tributes, symphonic shows, and contemporary circus, establishing itself as a varied cultural offering for the residents of Las Rozas and visitors. The farewell of this edition promises a combination of classical music, tributes, and cinema for all tastes.
Those interested in attending any of the events can purchase tickets online on the Giglon platform, selecting the city of Las Rozas. For summer cinema, entry is free until capacity is reached, according to the Las Rozas City Council.
