The Municipal Group of VOX has presented an amendment to the Plenary for the Boadilla del Monte City Council to climatise all classrooms in the municipality's public schools, in light of the high summer temperatures.

The Municipal Group of VOX in Boadilla del Monte has brought to the next Plenary an amendment demanding that the City Council climatise all classrooms in public schools in the municipality. The party believes that the local government cannot limit itself to incentivising private and concerted centres while neglecting public ones, for which it has municipal responsibility.

VOX appreciates the fiscal measures for other centres but emphasises that the direct responsibility of the City Council lies with public schools. "If the Popular Party considers it necessary to support the climatization of private and concerted schools through tax benefits, it must take on its responsibility for public schools even more so," sources from the municipal group state.

High temperatures in classrooms

The party reminds that the high summer temperatures affect the normal development of teaching activities and impact both the well-being of students and the working conditions of teachers. Therefore, VOX will defend an amendment in the Plenary for the City Council to promote the climatization of all classrooms in public schools in Boadilla del Monte.

The aim is to ensure that no student has to endure temperatures incompatible with a suitable learning environment. The party insists that the protection of schoolchildren must take precedence over any political strategy or fiscal announcement.

Municipal obligations

For VOX, tax bonuses can be a useful tool, but they cannot serve as an excuse to evade the obligations of the municipal government. "Those who have the responsibility for public schools must exercise it and provide them with the necessary resources," conclude the Municipal Group.

The amendment will be debated in the next Plenary, where it is expected that the Popular Party, which governs with a majority, will take a stance. If approved, the City Council should initiate the procedures to install climatization systems in all public centres in the locality, a process that could extend over the coming months.

Parents and teachers in Boadilla are closely following the initiative, as heat in classrooms is a recurring problem each school year. If successful, the measure would represent a relief for families and improve study conditions in the municipality's public schools.
