A 37-year-old man was murdered in his home on Cirauqui Street, in the Las Tablas neighbourhood. The attacker sprayed him with pepper spray and stabbed him 14 times before fleeing in a red car.

The National Police are investigating the brutal murder of a Las Tablas resident, in the Fuencarral-El Pardo district, which occurred on Tuesday morning. The victim, a 37-year-old man with dual Spanish and Argentine nationality, was found dead in his home at number 4 Cirauqui Street, a high-end residential area in the north of Madrid.

According to initial investigations by the Homicide Group, the attacker arrived alone in a red car and rang the doorbell. The victim opened the door without any signs of violence at the entrance, indicating that they knew each other. As soon as he entered, the suspect sprayed the man's face with pepper spray and then stabbed him up to 14 times with a knife: 11 in the front of the body and three in the back.

Neighbours alerted 112 after hearing cries for help

The alert was triggered around 10:00 AM when residents of the building heard noises and desperate cries of “Help!”, “Assistance!” and “Help me!”. Shortly after, a strong chemical smell began to emanate from the flat, prompting an urgent call to 112. Firefighters from the Madrid City Council accessed the property through a sixth-floor window, finding the victim lying on the kitchen floor in a large pool of blood. Samur-Civil Protection paramedics could only confirm the death.

The high concentration of pepper spray in the home caused eye irritation to the responding personnel, complicating rescue efforts. The crime scene was preserved for forensic analysis, which is working on collecting evidence.

The investigation focuses on the victim's closest circle

Agents from the Homicide Group have ruled out robbery as a motive, as no valuables were missing from the flat. Everything points to a premeditated and vicious attack, carried out by someone from the deceased's inner circle. The victim, who had no police record, had been living alone for years and there were no previous reports of threats.

Security cameras in the development are being analysed to identify the suspect, who fled in the red vehicle wearing a cap and dark glasses. The National Police are asking for public assistance to locate him. Any information could be key to solving this case that has shocked the quiet Las Tablas neighbourhood, where violence of this kind is unusual.

Local residents, accustomed to the calm of a luxury development, are in shock. “This doesn’t happen here,” commented one resident, as officers continue their investigations. The incident has put the community on alert, which is calling for increased security measures.

The Madrid City Council, through the Municipal Board of Fuencarral-El Pardo, has offered psychological support to affected neighbours. The investigation remains open, and advances in identifying the attacker are expected in the coming hours.
