The Town Hall of Torrejón de Ardoz has presented its summer programme with three major free attractions: the only municipal wave pool in Spain, the show at the Fountain of Parque Europa, and a summer film cycle featuring 18 movies.
Torrejón de Ardoz becomes a magnet for locals and visitors this summer thanks to a cultural and leisure offer that, according to the Town Hall, is one of the most comprehensive in Spain. The programme, which started in July and runs until September, includes three pillars: the municipal pools with the only wave pool in the country, the water and light show at Parque Europa, and free summer cinema at the Plaza de Toros.
Municipal pools with extended hours and frozen prices
Until 30th August, residents and visitors can enjoy the municipal pools at the same prices as in previous seasons. The novelty this year is the extended hours: the facilities open from 12:00 to 21:00, half an hour longer than in 2025.
The main attraction is the Municipal Wave Pool, located in the Juan Antonio Samaranch Sports Complex, the only one of its kind in Spain managed by a town hall. Additionally, this complex has two more pools: a children's pool and an indoor pool. At the Joaquín Blume Sports City, there are three other pools: children's, 25 meters, and Olympic.
For registered residents, the Town Hall maintains the reduced entry fee of 1.20 euros for the unemployed and five-entry passes for guests at 25 euros. The 50% discount from 18:00 for all types of entry is also still in effect.
“We have prepared one of the best free cultural and leisure programmes for the residents of Torrejón in Spain this summer,” highlighted the mayor, Alejandro Navarro Prieto.
Fountain Show at Parque Europa: water, light, and music
Parque Europa hosts the Fountain Show every weekend, a water, light, and sound show that has become a classic summer event in Torrejón. The performances are free and take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until 27th September at 22:30 in the Greek Theatre, which has a capacity of around 700 people.
Each day has a different theme: Fridays feature Happiness, Saturdays premiere a new show inspired by Eurovision, and Sundays present Locos x los 80. The Town Hall recommends arriving early to secure a spot.
Free summer cinema with 18 films
The programme is completed with Summer Cinema, which screens 18 blockbuster films during July and August at the Plaza de Toros, with free entry until capacity is reached. The sessions are on Fridays and Saturdays at 22:30 in July and at 22:00 in August.
The cycle kicked off on Friday, 17th July with “Smurfs” and on Saturday, 18th with “Jurassic World: Dominion”. The complete schedule can be consulted on the municipal website. Attendees must bring their own chair or blanket, as there are no fixed seats.
In short, Torrejón de Ardoz is betting on a summer without leaving the municipality, with plans for all ages and without breaking the bank. However, those wishing to swim in the wave pool would do well to arrive early: it is the only municipal one in Spain and success is guaranteed.
