The singer from Málaga has spoken out about the speculation linking her romantically to the FC Barcelona footballer, labelling it as "absurd" and "fabrications".
Singer Ana Mena has addressed the rumours linking her romantically to footballer Ferran Torres, following speculation that arose during the celebration of the World Cup in Cibeles. In an impromptu meeting with the press at the airport, the Málaga artist categorically denied any kind of relationship with the FC Barcelona player.
"Oh, really... For God's sake, guys, there were so many people," the singer began explaining with laughter, before concluding: "They are absurd conclusions, honestly." Ana Mena reiterated that everything published in the press "are fabrications" and that she "really doesn't know what they are talking about", attributing the rumours to a series of coincidences.
One of those coincidences was the fact that she wore the jersey with the number 7 of the Spanish National Team during her performance in central Madrid. "Well, it was the one they gave me," she said with laughter, clearing up any interpretation of a supposed nod to the footballer.
The rumours began circulating after sports journalist Gerard Romero, during a live broadcast on his channel, posed a question that fuelled speculation: "What jersey was Ana Mena wearing in the afternoon? What number did she have?" The answer pointed directly to the footballer, as the singer wore Ferran Torres' number, the scorer in the final. Romero cryptically concluded: "I will only say that there was very good chemistry."
Despite both being single, journalist Javi Hoyos clarified the information, stating that he had no knowledge of anything and that, although "they can do whatever they want", it could simply be a friendship. Now, the artist herself has put an end to this narrative with her firm denial.
On the other hand, the programme 'Fiesta' has suggested that a possible relationship with Ferran Torres may not occur due to the figure of Óscar Casas, an actor with whom Ana Mena had a relationship until the end of June. "Many were wondering why Ana Mena wasn't following Ferran, and it's because Óscar Casas wasn't too keen on that relationship," collaborator Amor Romeira explained.
Romeira added that, according to the information she has, "they have resumed conversations and there is a rapprochement that could lead to a reconciliation." This comes a month after their breakup was made public at the end of June, a separation that occurred amicably, without third parties, after nearly two years of relationship.
Ana Mena and Óscar Casas met during the filming of the movie 'Ídolos' in the summer of 2024, although they did not officialise their relationship until the end of that year. Since then, they chose to keep their private life away from the media spotlight. "It's our way of protecting what we have," the actor stated in a recent interview.
Evidence of the good rapport between them is the 'like' that Óscar Casas gave to a post by Ana Mena on social media weeks after their breakup became known. A gesture that their followers interpreted as confirmation that the breakup had occurred on good terms and that the affection between them remains intact.
The singer, who is currently immersed in promoting her new music, has made it clear that she does not want to fuel any more rumours about her personal life. "Honestly, I don't know what they are talking about," she insisted, thus putting an end to any speculation about a possible romance with the footballer.
