The City Council of Pinto will install a 9x6 metre screen in the Plaza de la Constitución to broadcast the World Cup semifinal between Spain and France live. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 14 at 21:00, with musical entertainment starting at 20:00.
The City Council of Pinto has announced the installation of a giant screen nine metres wide and six metres high in the Plaza de la Constitución to follow live the World Cup semifinal that will see the Spanish National Team face France. The match, scheduled for Tuesday, July 14 at 21:00, promises to be one of the most exciting encounters of the tournament.
The signal will be provided by Radio Televisión Española (RTVE) at no cost to the council, as confirmed by the mayor, Salomón Aguado, through his social media. The initiative aims to bring the community together in a festive atmosphere to support the national team in this historic event.
Musical entertainment and reserved areas
From 20:00, the square will feature musical entertainment to warm up the atmosphere before the kickoff. The City Council has arranged recycling bins to keep the area clean during the evening.
Additionally, reserved areas for children under 12 and for elderly and disabled individuals will be set up, ensuring that all attendees can enjoy the match comfortably. “We want Pinto to be the 12th player,” the mayor stated in his post.
A team with a history in semifinals
The Spanish National Team arrives at this semifinal after eliminating Belgium with a goal from Mikel Merino in extra time. The team, led by Luis de la Fuente, has shown defensive solidity and a capacity for reaction that excites the fans.
Historically, Spain has been a formidable team in the semifinals of major tournaments. In World Cups, they have only lost once at this stage, and in European Championships, they have overcome key eliminations against Hungary (1964), Russia (2008), and Portugal (2012), before lifting the trophy. The only exception was in 2021, when they fell to Italy in a penalty shootout.
“Great matches are best enjoyed as a team,” encourages the City Council in its statement. “Put on your jersey, bring your scarf, and come fill the Plaza de la Constitución with excitement and colour.”
For the residents of Pinto, this is a unique opportunity to experience football as a community. The giant screen turns the square into an improvised open-air stadium, where the excitement multiplies with the roar of the local fans.
The match against France will not be easy. The French, led by stars like Kylian Mbappé, arrive with high morale after eliminating Portugal. However, Spain relies on its possession game and the depth of its squad to overcome the challenge.
A magical night is expected from Pinto. The event is on Tuesday, July 14 at 21:00 in the Plaza de la Constitución. It is recommended to arrive early to secure a good spot and enjoy the musical pre-show.
