The Bolivian U-20 team has called up 31 footballers, including two players from Oruro teams, for two friendlies against Brazil in Rio de Janeiro on August 8 and 12.

The team's preparation is taking place in Santa Cruz, where the players are training under Villegas's guidance this week and next, before travelling to Brazil. Villegas, who also manages the U-15 team, will use these matches to assess the players' performance for future call-ups to the senior national team, scheduled for the FIFA dates in September and October. In fact, several of those called up have already gained experience in higher categories: Gerónimo Govea, Jesús Maraude, and Nabil Nacif were part of the senior team in friendlies in June against Scotland and Algeria.
Among the players with experience in the Bolivian professional tournament included in the list are Marco Velasco (Oriente Petrolero), Fernando Mena (Bolívar), Kevin Mérida (San Antonio), and Escleizon Freita (Bolívar). The presence of goalkeeper Gerónimo Govea, who plays for Montevideo Wanderers in Uruguay, is also notable.

The matches against Brazil will take place in Rio de Janeiro, on dates yet to be specified but scheduled for August 8 and 12.
